1 January 2009-Bald Eagles at Starved Rock.
Winter birdie update- Yes there are birds still coming to my feeder. So far this winter, we have had our usual House finches, Purple finches, Cardinals and many varieties of sparrows in our feeder. We have not had the woodpeckers that we have had in the past, but we have had male and female American Goldfinches and Chickadees. I think the change of the brand suet cakes and finch feed is the reason for the changes. The Finch feed seems to be a hit, but not the suet cakes.
25 July 08- A pair of Wrens House in the back yard. They are setting up house in our bird house.
10 July 08-We saw a Green Heron at the top of tree at Evergreen Lake. It was squawking and generally making a racket that is how we noticed and identified it.
22 June 08- Sited an Indigo Bunting at Weldon Springs.
