I miss Cody. I have decided to write down many of the things I remember about her.
Cody loved boxes.
I miss the way she use to great me at the door and meow and tell me all about her day. Sometimes she would yell where have you been and you have been gone way too long. Who was going to feed me? No one pet me when I wanted to be pet. There was a noise.
She loved long naps in the sun. She slept on my side of the bed and made it impossible for me to roll over when I wanted to.
Cody loved bacon- she would wake up from a nap for bacon- she would come running for bacon. She would do tricks for bacon.
She would beg from the table for peas. (yes peas)
Her favorite toy was a green candy cane with a bell on it. She had it for 15 years we took it everywhere we lived. I was the only toy she would still play with when she was so old and too tired to play.
She loved, absolutely loved, to be brushed. She liked to be brushed two times on the right check, then twice on the left, and then twice on the right, then …well you get the point.
When I would get down on the floor to pet her she would roll left and roll right. Then she would stand up and walk back and forth and around and around me then lie down just out of my reach. Then she would look at me with this look that said “Why did you stop petting me? Come on human move your lazy butt and pet me over here. “
When I would feed Cody treats she would reach up with her paw and gently knock it down when she didn’t want to take it right from my hand.
When she could see in both eyes I could toss treats to her from across the room and she would chase them around the room.
When I was pregnant, she had to sit on me whenever I sat down or would lie down.
When my children were brand new babies and were sleeping away from me she would come get me as soon as they woke up even before they would cry.
Except for the green candy cane, Cody loved purple cat toys better than all others especially the fuzzy purple balls.
When I quit working at 4:00 in the morning she still woke me up for 6 months to feed her at 4:00 am.
Cody did not like being without a roof. The outside was suspicious because it did not have a roof. The car was suspicious because it moved. Roofs are not supposed to move.
When she was young she could jump straight up 6 feet if you made a ssst sound.
Cody hated the vacuum cleaner so much she would hiss at it even when it wasn’t on or moving.
Ok, I guess that is enough I know your eyes are glazing over now. I really miss Cody.
