Memorial Day

On Memorial Day we set aside the day to remember those that have died for our country. Most of us think of those soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, that have fought in wars and served in the Army, Navy, Coastguard, Air force, and Marine Corps. But there is much more to this day than those who serve the big armed services or in major wars. We should also remember those who are unnamed like those from the CIA or those we don’t often think of that are also important to the freedom of this nation. We should not forget police or firemen or secret service or border patrol agents that have also given their lives for our country. We always think of war over seas, but we can sometimes forget about those who are fighting on the home front too.
Unfortunately our country had/has many enemies’; and many good people have fallen, so that we can live in our free society. This is also a good day to reflect on our own lives and consider if we are living up to the sacrifices that these people have made for us. Ask yourself do you live, so that other citizens can also live a free life? Do you take your role in our system seriously? Do you vote? Do you follow the law? Do you know your government representatives? Do you know how they represent you?
Freedom is not free
