Girls Night Out

When you think of a girl’s night out, you might picture bar hopping with your gal pals. Or maybe chick flicks and funny green mud masks. My daughter, her best friend, and I had a girl’s night out. No, we did not go bar hopping- they are only 10. (What kind of mom do you think I am?) We did not go to the movies or even watch TV. We went camping. Yes camping. It was fun- we packed up the truck and went to Comlara. I took the girls swimming at the “beach”. The girls pitched the tent. We set up camp, did all the lifting and loading by ourselves. We even started our own fire, cooked our supper and roasted marshmallows. We watched the birds and the fish in the lake and tried to identify funny looking bugs. When it got dark we played cards and got bitten by bugs until the batteries died in the lantern. We had so much fun that I think we will try to make it a regular thing for just us girls. The girls are already scheming for a fall campout.
