Weird Illinois

(Part 6 the last part)
This spring my husband bought the book Weird Illinois by Troy Taylor. He thought it might be amusing. My daughter became fascinated by it. After we visited the Garden of the Gods, Deer was feeling good and decided since we were so close to Kentucky that we should drive a little bit farther south and take the kids to Kentucky. Plus the kids could get a glimpse of the river. I love these little unplanned adventures because you never know what you may find. We found some Weird Illinois. As we drove along Fawn noticed a sign for Metropolis. She shouted “Hey, that place is in the Weird Illinois book” She pulls out the book (I have no idea from where) and starts reading about the Giant Superman Statue. Soon the chorus begins can we go… can we? So we go. And we took our pictures in front of the statue. Then while we were there Fawn remembers that Metropolis also has another Weird Illinois attraction a Big John Statue. Since we were already there we snapped a picture of that too. Then when we came back to Central Illinois a few days later Deer had an appointment in Peoria and we drove down Washington Street and took a picture of the tire lady in front of the Uniroyal shop. She was all dress in her risky red bikini. I think they call her Vannah Whitewall.
I love my family.
